Step 1 Cornrow Hair Straight Back

When it is time to wash your hair part hair into to 5 to 7 sections and cornrow straight back. The cornrows will aid in stretching the hair out and the parted hair exposes the scalp to be cleaned and conditioned.

Step 2 Wash Hair

Wash your hair with the B.L.A.C. Soap. Work the soap thoroughly through the braids and use your fingernails to gently exfoliate and clean the scalp. Be liberal with the soap, producing a good lather. Use warm water to aid in removing dead skin from the scalp. With thick hair this cleansing process can take 5 minutes. Wash vigorously while at the same time keeping the braids intact.

Step 3 Rinse Hair

Thoroughly rinse the B.L.A.C soap out of your hair. The suds can hide within the braids. So make sure you run your hands down through the braids to make sure the water penetrates thoroughly.

Step 4 Dry and Condition

Pat dry your hair with a thick cotton towel and until hair is damp. Grab the Shay-Shay of your choice. Rub product between hands until it melts like butter and liberally apply the product on top of the braids, in between the braids, and on the exposed scalp. Use enough of the product to seep through the braids. Keep braids intact but don’t worry about them getting frizzy.

Step 5 Cover your Hair

Cover your hair with your favorite scarf, durag, or hat and allow it to dry naturally.

Step 6 Uncover Hair

Once your hair has completely dried, uncover hair and undo your braids.

Step 7 Detangle Hair

Detangle your hair with hands. Then use a long-toothed pick to comb out hair in an upward direction.

Step 8 Shape Afro

Shape Afro and style as desired.  Mist with water to add more curls.
